Acura: Time. Moving Picture Company. August 2013.


This was my final project while at MPC. I was the CG Lead and contributed to fx animation. Some balloons and confetti were shot practically, and we matched the rest to the plates.

EA: Ignite. Moving Picture Company. May 2013.


I was the FX Lead on this project over 2 1/2 months at MPC. Our FX team was responsible for cloth simulations on most of the uniforms as well as building some flying grass into many of the shots.

Dust 514: Enter the Vicious Cycle. Moving Picture Comany. March 2013.


We recently just finished up with the first commercial for CCP's Dust 514. Everything in this spot is made of sand and particles. There is literally no geometry being rendered. After trying a few options, we went with some proprietary MPC tools for caching some custom particles and nParticles in Maya. These were then rendered in Renderman since it could handle the high number of particles with self-shadowing. 

Adding up all 7 shots, the total particle count comes to just over 570 million.

Willow Springs International Raceway. April 2013


For the 2013, I am making a switch back to 2 wheels again. The 911 was great to me over the last 7 years, but has found a new home on the other side of the country.

This is my first day back on the track again with my 2008 Yamaha R6. The bike is mainly stock, on Pirelli Dragon Supercorsa tires. Aside from drifting sideways up the hill in turn 3 in the early afternoon, it was a pretty successful day getting back into it.


This lap of me was shot on a GoPro Hero 3 in the morning session while making my way through traffic. It is crazy how the 1000cc bikes completely take off from me on the straightaways.

NBA: Unbelievable is BIG. Moving Picture Company. December 2012


"Disappearing Act" was one of three NBA commercials we did in December, directed by Spike Lee. Of all three, this one required the most VFX. We were provided game footage for some shots, painted out Chris Paul and replaced him with smoke, which was generated using maya fluids. I was responsible for look development of the smoke effect, and leading the cg team.
