I teamed up with Lavender and Clove to shoot a video / time lapse wedding project at the Ace Hotel in Palm Springs. I started the day around 4 am, and shot with 2 cameras and motion control until 10 pm. I used LRTimelapse to process the footage and then Resolve to color.

This weekend's project merged photography with one of my favorite things to do, Porsche Cup Racing. I rented a Canon 70-200 2.8L II with a 1.4x, and went out to Willow Springs. This is the same club that I have raced with for years, only this time, I'm behind a lens and not the wheel.
This is a collection of my favorite shots from the race on Saturday, September 6, 2014.
I also got a chance to drive some laps myself at lunch in my 2007 Turbo. This is actual speed. Yes, I really drive this fast.

Nike came out with a new process that dyes clothing without using water called Colordry. In order to demonstrate the process, Royale's creative team dreamed up and developed this story of a mote, and it's adventure to spread pigment through the shirt.
We started off with developing Fume simulations in Maya to control the explosions. Then we also did an elements shoot using several different types of powders to help keep good resolution when the blasts take up the entire screen. The biggest challenge was to keep things looking dry, since the whole process is waterless.
Full Credits list coming soon.

If you are a gamer who is good at Madden, and you win the lotto, giving you unlimited funds. What would you do? Yeah, Gronkowski sized, exo skeleton football player suits, with full Bluetooth cell phone technology.
I made a quick trip to Seattle for this shoot, which turned out to be the coldest all night shoot that I have ever attended. We shot action sequences, along with a lot of plates of both football player and gamer. We did cg replacements for helmet and jersey and then integrated that with the gamer to come out with this fun result.
Full write up from Royale here.

These are the final pictures of me on a motorcycle on a track. Later in this day, I had a bad crash at 100+ mph while braking for Turn 3 at CA Speedway. After a very close call, 2 weeks in the hospital, and 3 months in a wheelchair, I have decided that I should stick to 4 wheels when racing. Once I heal, it's back to the track to time trial and race with POC again.
